40 year-old female that had completed comprehensive orthodontic treatment and was left with large, dark spaces in her teeth (black triangles) where her papilla (gum tissue) had receded. This was a quality of life concern for the patient and she wanted this restored. Although crowning the teeth could be considered a restorative option, both Dr. Swanson and patient agreed that a conservative additive procedure was by far the best choice. Over 60 years ago, the original founder of Swanson Dental Associates, Dr. Richard D. Swanson, graduated from the University of Washington School of Dentistry, where he later also served on the faculty. His son, Dr. Kris Swanson, followed in his father’s footsteps, graduating from the same program in 1983.
