63-year old male patient requesting larger, whiter teeth. He was concerned about his gummy smile, and his front teeth chipping and breaking. He declined adult orthodontics because of his professional public speaking but was willing to do anything else as he wanted the smile he’d never had. For him, this treatment was life changing.

49-year-old female. She presented reporting difficulty chewing, chronic headaches, occasional TMJ pain and was unhappy with the appearance of her teeth. After completing orthodontics, she completed at-home bleaching in preparation for restorative treatment. Upper and lower arches were restored using a combination of composite bonding (on 4 upper teeth, and 6 lower teeth) and crowns on the remaining teeth. This allowed for more ideal tooth proportions, provided a comfortable bite, and beautiful smile.

71-year old male. He was referred to our office after completing orthodontic treatment. The orthodontist had built up teeth prior to treatment. After doing some at-home bleaching in his retainers, he was ready to restore his entire upper arch and lower right molars with crowns in order to make his bite more comfortable and improve his smile. Composite bonding was added to the edges of his lower front teeth but chose not to close lower black triangles because they didn’t show when he smiled.

Often referred to as “invisible braces," Invisalign is a great alternative to traditional wire braces. Using clear aligners, Invisalign can straighten crowded, crooked, or gapped teeth, and it does so typically faster than traditional braces at a similar or lesser cost. We offer Invisalign here at our office.

Over 60 years ago, the original founder of Swanson Dental Associates, Dr. Richard D. Swanson, graduated from the University of Washington School of Dentistry, where he later also served on the faculty.
